Edward Thelen papers, 1947-1956, 1981.

Working papers, correspondence, and a 1949 business diary kept by Thelen, a Washington County (Minn.) probate court judge (1930-1956), and a leader in judicial efforts to reform the probate and juvenile court systems in Minnesota. The working papers, which predominate, include legislative bills, proposals, and resolutions, and data on the income and duties of probate judges. There is material on the Governor's Advisory Council on Children and Youth, the Minnesota Youth Conservation Commission, the Minnesota Association of Probate Judges, and the Minnesota Association of Juvenile Court Judges. His correspondence is largely with other judges throughout Minnesota. Two newspaper clippings (1981) provide biographical information.
